Deleting Temporary Files

There are temporary files ready to write to a CD, but I want to delete them.
When I try to I get an error message 'Cannot delete msmsgs.exe - being used
by another program. Close any programs that might be using the file'. How do
I find and close any such programs?

Start>Run>type MSCONFIG and press OK
Now click the startup tab and scroll down to msmsgs and uncheck/disable it.
Click Apply and Close. Reboot. Now delete the files.
