Deleting file from my Recycler folder

T

tshad

I have a file that I cannot seem to delete from my c:\recycler folder - I
get a file in use message.

This file has a virus in it and I want to get rid of it.

I tried to go to safe mode, but the folder is not there in this mode,
apparently.

How can I get rid of it?

Thanks,

Tom.

Start>Search>Files and folders>type the name of the file. It may find more
than one copy which is probably in use by another program. You can try to
rightclick there to Delete. If Safe Mode doesn't work, you can try it under
the
Command Prompt and navigate to the folder and type at the blinking cursor
del xxxxx.xxx (x=file name), and press Enter. If that doesn't delete it, then
you'll have to change your startup with running MSCONFIG and disable all your
programs from starting by disabling all programs, click Apply and Close.
Reboot.
Now the file will surely delete. Disabling programs does not delete
anything, it
only stops them from loading at boot time and using valuable system resources.
