deleted items folder

How can I stop my deleted items folder being deleted when I shut down windows
mail? I would rather keep the messages for a while before I delete the
folder.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Peter,

In Windows Mail, check these settings:

1. Click on Tools then Options.
2. Click on the Advanced tab.
3. Click on the Maintenance button.
4. Uncheck "Empty messages from the 'Deleted Items' folder on exit"
box.
5. Click Close and OK.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi Brink, have already done that, and box is unchecked. Any other ideas?
Thanks
Peter.

Hi again, I may have fixed it. Something about the imap (?) box being checked.
Cheers,
Peter.

Back again. No, still deletes, even when the box is unchecked, and the
imap??? is unchecked, and have checked McAfee and Firefox, but can't find
anything. Didn't used to happen before - just one of those driver error
nuisances I guess. Any other clues?
Thanks,
peter.

If you are running McAfee antivirus, you can expect problems with Windows Mail.
