delete profile

Hi - I am visiting my mother who has a newer computer than mine. She
has XP, Home Office, I still have Win 98. <sob> I use XP Pro at work,
so I'm somewhat familiar with it, but I don't use it for recreational
purposes - and my work computer is not shared.

Mom created separate profiles for her users.

I have a couple of basic questions:

1. I changed their desktop settings when I dragged several icons off
of my profile's desktop. Unfortunately the icons I trashed
disappeared from their desktops too.

This is what someone said in another ng: If you don't have "Include
Desktop icons in user settings" enabled, deleting Desktop icons in one
profile will delete them in another, AFAIK.

Unfortunately, I'm clueless. Where do I find it?

2. I set myself up as a "guest" and didn't give myself administrative
privileges. As a result, I wasn't able to use software I wanted to
use, like free agent. Now, I have a different profile with
administrative privileges.... because I couldn't figure out how to
change the first one. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to delete
it either. Profiles with administrative privileges have the dialog to
delete, but that one doesn't. So, can someone tell me how to delete
it?

3. Also, can you also tell me where to find the suitcase that is used
as the guest icon? It's not one of the icon choices and I didn't find
it at microsoft. I found a similar one at Google images, but I still
want to know where to find that gif in this computer.

TIA

I have no idea what the other person was referring to. The desktop and the
start menu pull shortcuts from two sources:
Documents and settings\<user account>\
Documents and settings\All Users\

If you delete items that are in the All Users desktop or start menu
folders, the shortcuts disappear for everyone. To workaround that, copy the
shortcuts from All Users to the individual user accounts that need/want
that shortcut. Then delete it from All Users.
2. I set myself up as a "guest" and didn't give myself administrative

The guest account is very limited by design. Is there still a default
guest account left if you delete the one you were using? If no, that's why
it won't delete.

Otherwise: How are you trying to delete the account? Suggest logging off of
the account and then using Control Panel> User Accounts. If this is not
working, more details about what happens when you try to delete would be
helpful to whoever can answer the question.
3. Also, can you also tell me where to find the suitcase that is used
as the guest icon? It's not one of the icon choices and I didn't find
it at microsoft. I found a similar one at Google images, but I still
want to know where to find that gif in this computer.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account
