delete key problem

I am using "Office XP". When I use "Word" the
functionality of delete key recently changed.

When I highlight text or graphics and hit the delete key
I get a message in the task bar that says: "Delete Block?
No (Yes) - does anyone know how to change so that it no
longer requires a confirmation to delete?

I have looked all through the "Tools/Options" menus but
can not find anything relative.

In Tools > Options > General, uncheck both options that mention WordPerfect.
