delete a domain from ad

Hi,

the server for the domain scotland was removed without demoteing it from ad.
Since the server is not availible any more i got some errors in ad that no
domain controller is present (shown below).How can i delete the domain from
ad?

Hi,

You need to clean the metadata of that domain in AD IF NOT DCs EXIST ANYMORE
FOR THAT DOMAIN! (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=230306 &
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=251307)

Besides that you need to remove the trusts it had with other domains! (if
you dont do this you will still see the domain in the logon box, etc.)

Hi Jorge,

if have checked both kb but the domain does not show up in the metadata.
But the trust was still there (i have removed it.)

Let`s wait and see if the event shows up again.
It always takes some time.
