Delays and freezing with Internet Explorer

G

Guest

Hello,

I recently upgraded my system to the following configuaration:

- Intel Penitum 4 3.0EGHZ processor with H.T.
- Intel D865PERL motherboard
- ATI Radeon 9600 256MB video card
- Corsair DDR400 1GB (2 x 512MB) memory

I did a clean Windows XP install (I have a Windows XP SP1a CD and did the
online update to SP2)

These are the anti-virus / anti ad-ware utilties that run in the background:
- Computer Associates EZ Trust Armor (anti-spam, anti-virus and firewall)
- Google toolbar with pop-up blocker

Shortly after re-installing Windows XP (about 1 month later), I noticed that
the browsing performance of Internet Explorer slow down.
In particular, I experience some problems when I have several windows opened
at the same time.

Often, one IE window will freeze so I have to do a CTRL + ALT + DEL and
close all IE windows.
Other times, if I decide to close a IE window, it will about 1 to 2 seconds
before the window actually disappears. It is really annoying.

Overall, it is like there is a persistant delay between what I do with
Internet Explorer and what I actually see on the screen. For example, if I
scroll down with my mouse (using the scroll button), it will scroll on the IE
screen about 1 second later, sometimes more.

The total memory used when I am surfing the web along with all other running
applications is about 350MB so memory is not at fault here since I have 1GH
of available memory.

I was wondering is someone had experienced the same problems and I would
like to know how to resolver them.

I copied and pasted my HiJackThis logfile.
Is there anything I shoud remove?

Thank you so much for any help!

Your HijackThis log looks good, if you have ran Adaware and Spybot and had no
spyware/adware, then there is only one thing I could recommend you do:

Get Linux

Just Kidding, but if you haven't checked for spyware/adware, then i would
recomend:

1) http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
2) http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
