Defragment??

Defrag C:\ results in one or two empty white spaces (10%) between blue
sections (2%)...
This has started after removing and reinstalling a few programs...
I there any other program that will move all of the blue files to the
left and closer together???

1) If you want full defrag you need to run standart windows defrag about 10
times ;)
2) if it NTFS disk - it's normal , maybe after last patches

Ran defrag more than 10 times; but no change in the blue block of files
out in right field..
Tried DefragNT <http://www.geocities.com/andreigaceff/DefragNT.html>
Program aborts before completion; even though it is supposed to work on
my FAT32 files...
It does list: 16 locked files and 23900 locked clusters???

Yes - registry and pagefile.
I think SpeedDisk or VoptXP can do it better.
For pagefile and registry use PageDefrag from sysinternals.com - freeware

John,
Thanks so much for the help..
I used VoptXP to find out that the errant right field file was a
downloaded 'Linux Installation File' (300+mb) that I could easily
delete and will download again if I need it..
Willard :)
