Defrag, Disk Clean and Diskeeper Lite

I have an IBM Thinkpad using XP Home Edition. When I try to use the System
Tools Defrag or Disk Clean, a screen pops up asking me if I want to purchase
"Diskeeper." What is Diskeeper Lite? Can I safely disable/remove this
program without compromising my computer? I can not use either of these
System Tools. Diskeeper Lite shows on my programs and can be
disable/enabled. It also shows up on Add/Remove programs. However, I am not
sure how I should proceed. Thanks. I will appreciate any
information/suggestions you have.

So-called 'lite' versions of software are commonly installed on new
computers as a result of marketing agreements between the computer
company and the software company. It's a way for the computer
manufacturer to earn some extra bucks. The 'lite' version is usually a
stripped down version of a program whose purpose is to get you to buy
the full version of the program.

You should be able to uninstall the program from Add or Remove Programs.

Diskeeper is a fine program but only you can decide if you need it. Read
about it here:
