defrag alternatives?

This was a timely question. I downloaded O&O (approx. 2megs) and Diskeeper
Lite (approx 12megs). I've installed & am now defragging with O&O. Thought
I'd look at the smaller of the 2 first. Will report back later with
comparison & comments.

Regarding comparison... I've lookd at dirms and buzsaw. In the notes
they say if you use NTFS you do not need to defrag, unless you use
compressed files. Check for yourself

start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>computer
management>storage>disk management>storage

Right click on the disk and check properties to see if yo u have
compressed files heck

If you do not then you do not deed a defrag

If I'm incorect let me know;)

But this is not that thread, mel. Guess your mother should have
explained to you what "special" and "exceptional" really mean in their
modern context, hmm? Are you, by chance, Florida's new senator?

Obvious to you, maybe. I suffer from no superstitous mumbo-jumbo,
whatsoever and the author's post in this thread makes my question purely
"academic", as some say, but: From what, aside from supposition, do you
draw your conclusion and exactly what makes it so "very obvious"?
