Defender keeps getting turned off - how?

Almost every time i wake my computer from sleep, Windows Defender alerts me
that it has been turned off. I suspect that Windows Live OneCare is doing
this, but do not know how to verify which program is turning Defender Off.
Is there a way to keep this from happening?

Normal behavior, since OC has incorporated the WD functionality. You can
still use the WD UI to control the settings.

I have the same problem. Did you ever get a satisfactory answer to the solve
the problem?

For all who have this problem.

David, at Microsoft PC Safety, says that if you have downloaded the current
updates to Live One Care that Windows Defender is now incorporated in the
Virus and Spy Ware of Live One Care. As a result of this you should uninstall
Microsoft Defender. You do not need it anymore.

Engel; Well that link was lame, and didn't provide any info or steps to
resolve it

There are two distinct situations here... Standalone Defender on Vista and
Standalone Defender on XP etc. If your OS is Vista, then Defender comes
with the operating system and you should not attempt to remove it as it's
integral to the OS. If your not on Vista then removal is at your option,
but the WLOC installation will disable standalone Defender in either
scenario since Defender code is a subset of WLOC and you wouldn't want to
be running two of the same real time anti-spyware apps due to potential
conflicts... they'd be fighting over which installation gets to quarantine
files and that sort of thing.
