To change the screensaver before logging on to Windows

start>run and type

regedit

navigate to the following key

HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

In the right-hand pane find "SCRNSAVE.EXE" then change the value to whatever
screen saver you would like.

To change the screensaver time-out, find "ScreenSaveTimeOut" in the
right-hand pane and change the value to the number of seconds you require
before the screen saver is activated.
