default mail client

My default mail client is Yahoo. When I try to email
someone from a website I get the message..this operation
could not be completed because the default mail client
was not properly installed. How do I handle this?

Hi Ilene,

Open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Programs tab
Verify if the email client is set properly. Choose some other account and
reset it back to Yahoo!
Close the dialog, and restart Windows

If that does not help, post the contents of this registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto

Type REGEDIT in Start/Run dialog to open Registry Editor.

And tell us how are you sending a mail:
1. Clicking a email address hyperlink?
2. Sending Page by email option via the Toolbar?
2. Sending Page by email option via the File menu?
