Default location of new contacts

Hi,

I have an Exchange account and a POP3 account in Outlook 2007. Both have an
address book. How can I change into which one a new contact will be saved? If
I click on New->Contact, it's saved into the POP3 address book, but if I
click on a message's sender with right click and say 'add to outlook
contacts', Outlook saves it into the Exchange address book. How can I change
this?

When using New->Contact, contact item will be saved to the contact folder
from which it was invoked. "Add to outlook contacts" will save it to your
<default> contact folder which from your description is your Exchange
mailbox.

Ok, and how do I change my default contact folder?

you'll need to change the default location of all items- your calendar, mail
and tasks too. if this is what you want, go to tools, accounts and change
the default delivery location for your profile.

The default delivery location is set to Personal Folders\Inbox (which means
the POP3's folder), and that's ok. What I want to change is the location of
newly imported contacts (via right click on address, and add to outlook
contacts). By default, it's imported into the Exchange address book, and I'd
like to have them in my POP3 address book by default.

Yes, maybe I should simply delete one of the address books, but anyway, I'd
like to know whether I can do it with two contact lists.

they should be going into the pst if it is set as default.

Oh, I see. On the Data Files tab, the exchange server is set as default, so
everything goes there, including contacts. But if I set the POP3 as default,
it says that it'll delete everything from the exchange server and mails will
be only available on the local computer.
OK, I'm getting the idea.
(ANY way to make it leave the messages on the exchange server while having
the pop3 set as default? Well, maybe deleting one address book is the real
solution anyway...)

No on the default question - you can create the appointments in the calendar
folder (open the calendar, then create the appointment) or drag from
exchange to the pst.
