Default Folder View ???

F

FISH

I just got a new computer running XP Pro and was trying to set the "view
option" for all folders to "list". I went to the control panel and selected
Folder Options, then the View tab, then went to click the "Apply to All
Folders" only to see that option grayed out.

How can I set the default viewing for all folders to List with this grayed
out?

Thanks...

Don't open this through Control Panel but instead through Windows Explorer.
Through Control Panel it will be grayed out but through Windows Explorer it
shouldn't be.

Start | All Programs | Accessories. While you are there right-click and
drag to the desktop and select create shortcut and then you can drag it to
your QuickLaunch bar. If you right-click and drag to the QuickLaunch bar
you'll have the option to leave a shortcut on the desktop or not.

Open Windows Explorer | Point to Tools | Click Folder Options

You can do the same thing from any folder.

Point to Tools | Click Folder Options
