Dear God Help Me

In all God's truth, I am now on 4 different kinds of High Blood Pressure
medications and am in a heart attack zone because my BP is 212 over 109, when
it should be 140 over 60. I want to at least say I tried to get some help to
make me better, so that I don't have a heart attack and not be able to take
care of my 10 year old son and I can't afford any more meds.
In one hour's time I get more than 40 Popups on my computer regardless of
what I am doing, messaging or creating graphics. I have restricted some of
the ads by their url in the Security function on my computer(win98) and still
they show up. The Popup Blockers don't stop them and I don't know what to do
anymore, they are persistant and aggravating to say the least.
Could somebody tell me what to take off of my computer files so that I don't
get them anymore. I can't even write an email or create a graphic without
intrution at least 4-5 times a minute. The culprits are all PayPopUps &
popunders and re-directed ads and also the worst ones seem to be mostly
ending in yyy(1) yyy (2) and so on up to (65).
I clear my temporary internet files at least 2-3 times a day and run Anti
virus and also delete the yyy's from my files but something keeps bringing
them back.
I have always loved my computer but I'm sorry to say that the ads are truly
making me really sick to the point where I had to go to the hospital as they
raised my blood pressure way too high and yes I could of died from it.
Please can somebody find it in their heart to help me.

You really do need to get away from that thing for a while......then when
you're are relaxed and it's quiet, backup your address book and any other
critical documents you may wish to save and do a format and fresh install.
Win98 only takes a few minutes and considering the amount of malware your
post indicates you have, it would be the easiest solution.

Good luck.

Serveral thing you should do, besides backup your data.
1-Download Ad-aware
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html
(update this program as soon as you get it and make sure you do a full
system scan will take 30-40 minutes)
Also disconnect computer when doing this scan, and make sure you select ALL
unwanted files(you may also want to run this in safe mode as well)

2-Run Windows Live
http://safety.live.com/Template/hom...DC9-4154-8C03-ABA23DD4421E}&NRCACHEHINT=Guest
(you need to be online with this)

3-Get an Anti-Virus program like Norton Anti-Virus.

Hope you fell better.

Canapril,

Download & run various different antispyware program besides Microsoft
Antispyware, like Ad-aware. Download Ad-aware from here:

www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5

After downloading & installing follow below instructions:

* start Ad-aware & just download the updates (program & Definition updates),

Exit Ad-aware without scanning yet

Boot into Safe Mode:

* Start > Run > type MSCONFIG, click OK > select 'BOOT.ini' tab >

check SAFEBOOT

NOTE: If on Local computer-click OK ('MINIMAL' selected by default)

If on a Network computer-check NETWORK, click OK, restart
computer

During restart accept being sent into Safe Mode (click OK during boot up)

When it finally boots into Safe Mode:

* Run Microsoft Antispyware first, delete found spyware

* Run Ad-aware second , delete found spyware

Don't restart computer at this point

* click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs,

uninstall any spyware programs installed

* click Start > Run > type MSCONFIG, click OK > select 'Startup' tab,

uncheck any references to spyware, click OK

Return to 'Normal Boot'

* Start > Run > type MSCONFIG, click OK > select 'General' tab

* select 'Normal Startup - load all device drivers & services', click OK

* Rerun both scans again

Sounds as if your comp needs some serious medication as well as yourself.
Alas Microsoft Antispyware won`t help because it will not run on Win 98. If I
were you, I`d follow Linuxgirl`s advice and then speak to your 10 year old
son - he may unwittingly be the culprit.

God certainly has a lot of earthly angels for sure..Ask and thou shall
receive...
Thank you all so much for your time and advice...it sure is better
now..thanks to all of you...You sure have made my day if the best of ways.

p.s. My 10 year old never touches my computer he has his own and only goes
to Neo Pets and Pokemon site..so no problem there..he's a good boy.
Thanks again..
