dead MB and CPU

Dust bunnies got my CPU and motherboard. I am in the
process of replacing both. Do I need to do anything to get
XP to recognize them and continue to recognize the rest of
the system?
thanks,
Dick H.

Yes--you will need to run a repair install BEFORE booting to Windows XP on
the new board to install the proper HAL.

Actually caked dust on the heat sink and it overheated.
Case had a 'do not open sticker or void warranty' on it.
My son (user) didn't, nor did he vacuum his room well.
