dcpromo question

Hello,

I have got my Win2K server set up as a workgroup as to moment and want to
promote it to a DC. The DNS currently works fine, although when I run
dcpromo, I get the message:-

"The wizard cannot contact the DNS Server that handles the name
ennerdale.local to determine if it supports dynamic updates. Confirm your
DNS configuration or install and configure a DNS server on this computer."

This will be the only server in my test domain. Can someone please tell me
where I have gone wrong.

Here's a ipconfig/all incase it helps:-

Host Name Adder
Primary DNS Suffix Ennerdale.local
Node Type Hybrid
IP Routing No
WINS Proxy No
DNS Suffix Search List ennerdale.local

Connection Specific DNS :
Description 3com
Physical address : blah blah blah
DHCP No
IP 10.9.8.2
Subnet 255.255.255.0
DG 10.9.8.1
DNS Server 10.9.8.1

Thanks

I see you are using your router for DNS, you should remove that and point
the machine to its own IP address for DNS. You cannot use ISP's or other DNS
that does not support AD.
