Database is in Unexpected state.

I keep getting the following error message in Access 2000
on a database that was working earlier today:

"This database is in a unexpected state: Microsoft Access
can't open it."

It then goes on to talk about the database has been
converted from a prior version of Microsoft Access by
using the DAO...etc.

When there was never a conversion tried on this database.

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks in advance,

Dan H.

This is a wierd corruption problem which doesn't happen very often.

See the Access Corruption FAQ at my website for some things to try to
recover the data.
