Database Creation Problems

Do you actually have to have a Personal Web Server
installed on your computer to CREATE a form, database,
and database connection to send data?

Can you create the files and forms the way you do to send
a text file via e-mail, and then test it after you
publish it?

I'm using FrontPage 2000 at home and 2002 at my office.

No, for development only, then test on live/remote server.
Yes, if you want to test the application locally.

Then why do I get this error when I try to CREATE a form
that sends results to a database: (I am NOT testing)

"The server encountered an error...."
And then when I click "details" I get this:"Server error: Unable to retrieve the list of record
sources from a database using the connection string:

DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver
(*.mdb)};DBQ=URL=fpdb/left.mdb.

Thanks for answering!

If you are getting an error: "the SERVER encountered an error" it means you
are testing.

I am NOT testing. I am in NORMAL view. I right click in
the form. I choose "Form Properties". I select the radio
button, "Send to Database". As soon as I choose "Options"
to create and choose the connection, I get this error
message. I click OK to shut up the message. I
click "Create Database" to let the program create the
database. It does, but I get the same message again. I
click OK to shut it up. I click OK to leave this dialog
box, and I get the message, "A valid database table is
required." It will not let me put in any table name, and
there is none to choose from. All I can do is exit out of
this dialog box and I am back where I started.

Does anybody have ANY advice?

Thanks.
