DAO libraries and diff versions of Access

Hello:
I have an Access 97 database that uses Microsoft DAO 3.51 Object library.
All other computers using Access 97 can access the database. A remote user
trying to Access the file using Access 2000 gets the following message:
Cannot find the file or one of it's components. Make sure the path and
filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.
I suspect this has to do with the DAO library. How can I resolve this problem?
Thanks,
J.

If you are going to allow different versions of ms-access to work on the
same data, you need to split the database.

Having said the above, it is likely the user has a broken reference.
However, if you split, and deploy a a2000 front end to that user, you likely
will fix this problem anyway.

I explain what this split is all about here

Also, when you say remote user? What kind of remote user? I explain how
ms-access will, or will NOT work on a wide area network here
