Thanks, Susan. A lot of hard work there.

My thoughts exactly. Wow. Thanks, Susan.

It is interesting to see which kinds of apps get relatively few votes and which
get a lot. I would have expected it to relate more closely to the general
"usefulness" of the app (as opposed to "very specialized interest tool").

My next thought is for the recognition that Irfan is getting for his great app,
as well as the authors of Ad-Aware and Spybot. Well deserved.
I hope we will find a way to help them get some mileage out of this result.
(Without letting too much "business interest" seep in! I shudder at the though
of the ramifications of it)

Susan, do you have some "protected" label for Pricelessware?
(And is anyone competent on how to go about those things? Not me, unfortunately)

Could you explain a little more as to what you mean by "protected label"?
(I've not long gotten out of bed, so my braincells aren't functioning at
full speed yet).

Some form of protection like trademark or copyright (or whatever) that prevents
misuse by unauthorized parties.

Are you talking about the list, or the programs themselves?

IMO it does relate to genereal usefulness - the total votes in the
browser categories (120+) are close to the total votes in the graphics
viewer category (96+). OTOH I suspect that ACF as a whole is more geeky
than the general public - so some categories that are well liked here
might not be as interesting to everyone . . .

I *love* Lars script! I've just been browsing the Nominations page -
sorted in vote order, then sorted by category, then looked at the yes/no
votes re: acceptability vs. the votes *for* the programs, then . . .

Genna purchased the pricelessware.org domain name - IIRC
pricelessware.net was already taken . . .

I *think* in the US *Pricelessware List* has some copyright protection
automatically - IOW I don't think someone can *legally* use the same
name in the same way . . . for whatever that's worth . . .

Thanks.
I suspect that if we ever try to let some authors use the recognition, then the
cover/protection for the proper use of "pricelessware" will come under intense
pressure from some of the losing authors who are denied this usage.

Hi DAN,

I rather doubt that - IMO most freeware author's are pretty classy people.

FYI - some winning author's already note the selection of their program
as Pricelessware - and I believe have done so for some time.

Susan,
The only problem I would have with listing any of my programs as
"pricelessware" is basically...... I don't see it as priceless, lol (I just
build it...... if people like it/find it useful,. then even better).

hehe POKO, thankyou )

Speaking of my programs, I'm actually working on modifying my Cookie Info
utility to allow the deletion of the cookies via command line (aswell as a
brand new deletion routine using FSO (FileSystemObject) and a few bug
fixes/modifications).

Indeed, good point. You are right.
May it stay this way.

Indeed, and now that you mention it I have seen it on some sites.
