custom installation isn't creating MAPI profile

I'm attempting to create a custom installation of Outlook 2000 to
deploy for workstations that won't need to prompt for messaging
profile information.

I ran Office setup with the /a switch to create an installation point
on the server.

I used the Office 2000 RK to create a MST file with settings specified
in it such as the profile name, organization name (same as Exchange
Server's), the mailbox name (%username), and the Exchange server name.
Overwrite Existing Profile is checked.

The MST file is in "c:\outlook install" with the rest of the
installation, and in setup.ini I have these lines:

[MST]
MST1=outlook custom setup.mst

I've also tried:

[MST]
MST1=c:\outlook install\outlook custom setup.mst

I ran setup from the workstation with the /qr switch for an unattended
installation. I then launched Outlook and it prompts me for the
messaging profile info such as information service, mailbox name, and
server name.

These settings were specified in the MST file. Why aren't they being
applied? The rest of the custom settings seem to be applied, because
as I specified, only Outlook was installed and not any other Office
programs.

I did previously have an installation of Outlook on the workstation,
but I deleted the messaging profile before uninstalling Outlook.

Is there anything else I can check?

Thanks,
Dave

I solved the problem. It must have had something to do with the
workstation not being a proper member of the domain. The domain had
existed before but was deleted and recreated with the same name. I
rejoined the workstation to the domain and the custom installation
creates the profile properly.

Thanks,
Dave
