Office 2003 Outlook - MST transform Outlook setup

How do I do a simple MST file so outlook connects my users to an exchange
mailbox on office installation. I have to do this for approximately 200
users.

I've seen the settings in the customization wizard but am wondering which
are the important or critical settings I should take note.

Thanks

Just set up the Exchange mailbox on the screens provided. You can use
%username% as the placeholder for the user name. When you install Outlook,
the resulting .prf file will be copied to the local machine and set to
import when Outlook starts.

Does it create the .prf automatically or do I need to export settings and
provide this to customization wizard ?

Thanks in advance.

If you include Outlook mail profile settings in the CIW screens, the .prf is
added to the .mst automatically. You should be able to see this for yourself
with the MST Viewer.

You can also export the .prf file and deploy it separately, if you've
already installed Outlook and want to make changes.

That's the problem I'm having I think.

Outlook is already deployed and setup, but due to server migrations and
changes in configuration this method is not working for me. The new
settings are not being installed through the CIW. This is despite me asking
it to uninstall, and reinstall itself with the specific settings that I
require.

I am looking at uninstalling the current version, removing any settings.
Installing Office 2003 in full
Configuring Exchange server with username variable

How would I go about doing this? To me it seems as though I am going
through the motions of setting up and initial installation, but I already
have outlook 2003 in the environment, it just needs a new configuration.

Thanks for all your help.

CIW is used only for new installations. To update existing installations,
use the Custom Maintenance Wizard instead. It has virtually identical
setting options

Not really related to what we were discussing but along the same lines and
will most probably be done at the same time.

Does Microsoft still release administrative service packs which copy over
onto administrative shares and then office is installed with all service
packs. I remember back during the office 2000 days. This is how things
were done back then.

Has this now changed? What is the new method if so.

Yes, full file administrative versions are available for all service packs.
