Is there a way to save a pps created in 2003 with all
kinds of custom animation in it to a version that will be
viewable on a lesser version (ie 2000)without lossing all
the animation.

PowerPoint 2000 uses the same file format as PowerPoint 2003, so don't try
saving to any other format. However, PowerPoint 2000 is three years older that
2003 and wasn't created to recognize new features that hadn't even been thought
of yet. However, as Bill has mentioned, the "bridge" for users of PowerPoint
2000 is to use the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer. It can be downloaded and installed
