Cursor Control

After replacing my mouse and performing dianostics, I am still experiencing a
cursor which jumps to random areas on the display while typing. It is
rendering my system as useless. Local repair shop is stymied as it must be
Vista!!! Any ideas???

Hi, Fish.

Are you using a microphone? Is it "live"? This can cause the kind of
erratic jumps you are seeing.

If that's not it, tell us something about your hardware. (So far we don't
even know the make and model of your computer - or your mouse.) And tell us
WHEN the jumps happen, like what program is running?

I have no microphone. I am running a Toshiba P105 Notebook Vista Ultimate 32
bit 2 ghz processor. MS Wireless laser Mouse 5000 or Offspring SuperMini RF
Wireless Optical Mouse. This phenom occurs with Outlook, MSN, Notepad, etc...
Prior to Xmas, system was simply stopping requiring reboot, after Xmas, MS
update repairing the freezing issure, however, the bouncing cursor issue
replaced the freezing. Even as I type this reply, it has bounced three times.
I have MS and type one hand only and cannot move mouse while typing.

I forgot to add, it also occasionally bounces between open windows further
adding to my consernation. It simply appears to get lost or bored with my
typing.
