Critical uninstalling question...

Hi,
I have inquired about this problem a few times now,
and all suggestions have been tried and failed. Any new
advice would be a huge help.
Whenever I try to uninstall something, wether it be
through add/remove programs, or using the programs own
uninstaller found in the program folder, I get an error
message stating "Could not find install.log" Pretty much
every program is affected by this. here is what I have
tried...
1)Anti-Virus...all scans return normall, no virus. All
virus software fully up to date.
2)Re-install...I have tried to re-install a bunch of
programs but still cant uninstall them.

I Really do not want to reboot from scratch at this
time, I am sure there is something simple! Is there a
folder that these install.logs are stored in, could this
folder be missing? wouldnt windows re-create it anyway the
next time something is installed? Thanks again for any
help....ZED

Are the logs hidden files or marked Read Only, by chance?

To view hidden files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and
Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View.

Are these applications you've installed or not?

Check your system for "hijackware".

HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) is the
preferred tool to use these days. It will help to both identify and remove
any hijackware/spyware. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
