Creating workgroup on simple home network

This may be too simple for you guys, BUT... I bot a new CPU yesterday running
WIn XP media center. I am trying to network with an older computer running
Win ME through an ethernet hub. I want to share files and printer. When I
run the Wizard on the new machine, it wants me to create a disk to later run
on the older machine. The only drives the wizard will give me are the media
card readers (new machine has no 3 1/2" floppy). It will not give me the
DVD-RW as an option. I do not have the Win XP disk, it was pre-installed.
The older machine will only accept 3 1/2" floppy or CD. Any thoughts as how
to create a disk to run on the older computer?

You can copy the Wizard's executable file to a CD, DVD, or USB flash
drive and run it on the other computer:

C:\Windows\System32\Netsetup.exe

Besides, isn't it correct that creation of the transfer disk is merely
optional?

Yes, it's optional. You can make the network settings manually,
without using the Network Setup Wizard. In fact, the Wizard won't run
on Windows 95 or 2000.
