creating keyboard shortcut for mouse/right click/send to/wordpad

HI

I need to open files using WORDPAD frequently and have created a shortcut in
my "Send to" folder - making it a bit easier for me to send the file to
WORDPAD. Just wondering if it is possible to create a keyboard shortcut that
opens the file up in WORDPAD if it is selected in an Explorer window.

Thanks

Try this.

Start | Run | Type: sendto | Click OK |
Right click your WORDPAD shortcut | Properties |
Shortcut tab |

With the cursor in the Shortcut key box, select the keyboard key you
want to use in combination with CTRL+ALT. Shortcut keys automatically start
with CTRL+ALT. The Shortcut key box will display None until you select the
key and then the box will display Ctrl+Alt+the key you selected. You cannot
use the ESC, ENTER, TAB, SPACEBAR, PRINT SCREEN, SHIFT, or BACKSPACE keys.

Note
Once you assign a shortcut key combination for a specific program, you will
not be able to use that key combination with other programs.

Thanks Wes - but this does not seem to work on the shortcut in the "send to"
folder - works if I create a short to Wordpad and keep it anywhere else
(which doesnt help as all it does is to create a fresh Wordpad window instead
of opening the file I want opened. Any suggestions would be great.

that opens the file up in WORDPAD if it is selected in an Explorer window.

Maybe I am missing something here, but if a file is selected I assume you
selected it. Double click the file instead of single clicking the file and
it should open in Wordpad unless the file type isn't associated with
Wordpad.

I honestly do not know how you can create a shortcut key to open a bunch of
different files in Wordpad.

I take that back, select the file and hit your Enter key, that will open the
file in Wordpad if the file is associated with Wordpad.

The Enter key will open almost any selected file or folder.
