create message in Outlook following copy in Excel crashes Excel

C

ctbee

When I copy cell(s) from Excel 2003, switch to Outlook 2003 and create a age
(new message, reply, or forward) with a full clipboard, Excel 2003 crashes
with no recovery possible.

Error message reads "Exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409)
ocurred in the application at location 0x3000e6ead"

My tech suport is stumped - they've repaired both apps, reset my profile,
and are contemplating a bleaching of my hard drive. Has anyone seen this and
know how to fix it?

Thanks!

Are you using Word as your email editor? If so, does it help to switch that
off?

No, not using Word as editor. Just in case, I tried switching it on but
received the same error. Now I have reverted back to Outlook as editor.

btw, running XPPro (Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600)

OK. One last hunch: try removing all files from your temp folder and from:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms

Problem still occurs with forms and temp files deleted. Thanks for trying.
Only other post for the same problem that I see on the Internet is at
experts-exchange -I might see if I can access that.

This is going to sound really weird, but we had the same problem here.
To solve it I deleted all the printers, found in the Printers Control
Panel window.
This some how stopped the crashes, and reconnecting to the network
printers didn't cause the problem to resurface. Hope this gets to you
before signing up for EE.

We are having this problem and I have it narrowed down further. If you have
any HP Laserjet 4250 or 4350 set as your default printer this problem will
occur. I found that if I set a different printer as my default this problem
stopped occuring. HP told me they would come out with an updated driver to
fix the issue but I have not heard from them yet.

I have had the exact same issue since I switched departments (new printer).
It's a Lexmark. I switched default printers and the problem has gone away. I
can copy cells in Excel, create a new message in Outlook and paste them...
