CPU at 100@

Started with a missing ntfs.sys error. Could not repair. Able to restore to
a previous point. Now the cpu runs at 100@ by the system image and the
computer is slow. We have done a virus check, used spysweeper, did a disc
check, checked the harddrive, and the memory with no luck. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Open task manager, Ctrl+Alt+Delete, click the Processes tab and post here
the process that is using 100% CPU. Never heard of system image. There is
System Idle Process and System. System Idle Process will show 99 to 100% cpu
if nothing else is using the cpu. It's what your cpu is idling at. When a
process uses the cpu your system idle will reflect that with a corresponding
decrease.

In the Processes tab click twice on the CPU column header. That will
sort the processes list based on CPU usage in descending order.

Post the names of the 4 or 5 processes at the top of the list back
here.

It is probably SpySheriff or WinFixer spyware that has not been
completely removed. These are really nasty to get rid of.

Please check Event Viewer for Warning / Error Report in the System log
over the last 2 days and post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you should
double click for further information. You can copy using copy and paste.
Often the link will, however, say there is no further information.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

It was the usb ports on the motherboard. The motherboard had to be
replaced.
