Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Error 1075

Pierre de Beer

After updating Microsoft AntiSpyware and restarting my computer, I ran the
Windows update. It installed the latest update service and prompted me to
restart the computer.

I am now unable to run Windows update. All updates fail.

I found that the "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)"
service was not started. When attempting to start the service I get the
following Error.
Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for
deletion.

I found an article discribing using " "secedit /configure /cfg
%windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose". This runs to 3% and
just hangs on line 131/3627.

Please Help

Pierre,

Reboot once, and try again. If not, type this in Start, Run:

cmd /k sc qc sharedaccess

Post the contents of the output window here.
