Corrupted Shared Documents Folder??

AmyM

I am running Windows XP, fully updated with latest
patches. I have .jpgs, .tifs etc. which I am trying to
place in PowerPoint, open in Photoshop, and view with
Windows Explorer. When I try to access the files in my
Shared Documents folder, I get a Microsoft Visual C++
Runtime Library error which reads "Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10
\POWERPNT.EXE abnormal program termination" The error
varies depending on the application I try to access the
files with. When I move the files out of that folder, I
am able to access the files with no errors. I have this
problem on both of my Windows XP machines (2 different
models)and have not experienced anything like this on my
Windows 2000 machine.
I have checked for viruses and run chkdsk. No problems
there. If anyone has seen this before or had experience
with this problem I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Amy,

Are you running Professional or Home Edition? What file system are you
using? (FAT or NTFS) Who saved the image files to the Shared Documents
folder? How are you trying to add an image file to a powerpoint file?

Thanks,

Hi Dennis
Thanks for your reply(sorry so late in posting back). XP Pro, NTFS. I saved the files, and in some cases, actually created them. Adding the files by using Insert, Picture, from File from PPT Menu. Did a defrag, same problem. Wrote 0s to the drive and restored clean (Ghost), same problem. I have been sending error reports to MS regularly. Next step is to update video driver
