Corrupt JPEGs?--Cannot open

L

lteisha

I burned some images of my children to a CD. The CD did not have enough
MBs, so I had to "delete" some of the files from the "write these files
to CD" window. Now, I cannot open the images (in the My Docs/My
Pictures folder) that I removed from the window. The window showed the
files as shortcuts. But, it seems as though I deleted the actual images
or corrupted them.

I can see thumbs when the folder that holds the "corrupt" images is NOT
open. Once I open the folder, I only see icons for the images, but I
can't open them. They still have jpg extensions. I've tried opening
them with different viewers irfranviewer, windows pic manager, IE,
acdsee, windows pic and fax viewer, etc. I've tried to restore system,
ran antivirus software, etc. I do have window washer and it ran after I
created the CD.

I've looked in the archives for lots of these groups and tried many of
the suggestions...Nothing seems to work so I can open the images again.
Any suggestions? Please help. Am I missing something. THANKS!

Ok...I'm sure you checked the Recycle Bin?

It's a very slim possibility....especially with
all the fixes you have tried...but maybe the
following free software could be useful:
