Copying SELECTED folders of email

Win XP and Office 2000/Outlook

I have ‘thousands†of emails sorted in folders (subfolders) in folders,
under my Inbox.
How do you copy all the emails in a SPECIFIC folder ie subfolder (eg copy it
to a folder on the desktop or to a cd/floppy), for keeping until you are
ready to use the information. In the meantime delete the (original) emails
from the subfolder, thus reducing the volume in outlook and reducing
sluggihness.

When I am ready to work on the emails in one of the folders, I want to
1. Copy back into my outlook folder on my original computer – or another
computer (including someone else’s computer - these emails,
and – completely- separately I wan to be able to
2. “Convert†ALL the emails (either those in the subfolder in outlook on
the computer or on CD) into one document for editing purposes (At present I
find myself doing cut and paste from the emails into a word document. yuk

The article kb/19492/en-us: describes import/export but leaves us in the
air as to what I need (copying individual folders) described above. At the
end of the “how to export.pst file data†paragraph there are no further
instructions on completing the process; the “box†that presents on the screen
seems to give us no choice but to abandon the process (because it seems that
if you contine you are “overwitinng’ what is already there, eg the ohe
content of the other folders

On a further matter, because my outlook folder is so large, I cannot burn to
a cd (not enough space on cd) so there is the further frustration that I
can’t back up my my outlook folder as a whole.

Thanks in anticipation – there may be many people with my predicament?

I do not need reference to kb articles that do not answer my questions.

I have sighted
rom an EXTREMELY frustrated MS product user.
