copying pics from canon digital camera

I used to be able to right click and copy pictures from my digital camera and
paste them into a folder. Now when I click paste, nothing happens. I can
paste the picture into programs such as word, powerpoint, any photo
program...basicly anywhere except in a folder or on a drive. I can
right-click on save and that works fine. I just want to know why I can't use
the copy feature any more. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You 'paste' pictures (the image) into programs but 'copy' (the picture file)
into folders/drives

When you "paste" a picture you are inserting it into either a document or a
folder. The paste option can only be used once you have either "copy" or
"cut" the picture.

When you "COPY" a picture you are literally making a copy of the picture
leaving the original untouched. As a result when you paste it into a
different folder for example, you will have 2 pictures - the original and
the copied. If you "CUT" a picture, that process will remove the original
when you paste it. You would use that option when you want to move a picture
from one folder to another and not end up with 2 copies (no pun intended).

Frank, if you can't paste, you may want to check the properties of the
folder that you are trying to paste into and make sure that it was not
somehow set to READ ONLY. That is the only thought that comes to my mind at
the moment.

Hope that helps.
