copying or importing from Word

I cannot find this answer to what I thought was a simple request. I am
gathering about 5 fields worth of data off of emails over time (name, city,
etc) and have entered them into a word table then copied them into a DB with
same fields.
When I copy and paste I often get partial results or more often "do you want
to paste into 2,3 or 4 records" which then requires me to cut and paste in
Access to get the one record. Rarely it works perfectly....I have now
entered 160 entries over a few months and expect more...and it is very
frustrating.
What am I doing wrong?
When I try to import from either a txt file from word or a ssheet, nothing
happens.
Hope someone can give me some instruction! Thanks. Dianne

the effort to go from email to Word to db ....maybe better to go email to
db....and then if you need Word generate that from the db.

having said that...

you should be able to import a delimited txt file ok; resave that Word doc
as a txt file with a delimiter instead of a table format

Tried that as a text file and when I tried to import nothing happened, no
wizard, etc.
How would you copy 5 fields in a row then paste into database format as one
record? Why does it sometimes work and often doesn't??

importing a text document is a routine thing that should always work.....if
I were you - - I would focus on trouble shooting this issue and resolving....

build a simple text file and try and import...investigate why the wizard is
not firing...
