Copying jpgs to cd

I'm using windows xp and twice now when I copy jpgs to cd you cannot read
them. It tries and usually gets a portion of the picture. Anyone know why
and how I can save these pictures. Of course, they were deleted from my
documents. So I'm trying to restore them on my c drive or fix the cd

Where are you getting the jpg's from and exactly how are you copying them?
A step by step might be best.

What happens when you try to copy the files from the CD to HDD? A "Cyclical
redundancy check" error means the disk, (or at least the portion on the disk
where the file is stored), is FUBAR.

You could try Nero's CD-DVD speed and run the Scandisk option to check the
disk

Another option might be ISObuster if it turns out the disk is defective,
though it could be the files were never written correctly in the first
place.

You don't say what software you are using to write the files, but you should
use data verification software, or turn on the option to verify data after a
burn.

Nero has this option, and you can use something like CDCheck, which is
freeware to compare the files on the disk with the ones on your HDD before
deleting the local files.

It sounds like you may not be able to recover the files unless they were
recently deleted and you use data recovery software in the hard disk.

Sorry...

If you are not able to copy the CD because of physical damages :
scratch, bubbles, cracks and warping or TOC (Table of Contents) is bad
or damaged. Then you can try Stellar Phoenix CDRom - Data Recovery
Software is a powerful, easy to use cd file recovery tool which
provides data recovery from damaged or defective CDROM, CD-R, CD-RW.
Provides recovery of data and file, lost due to unreadable, scratched,
corrupt or defective CD media.
Free demo version can be downloaded from: http://www.stellarinfo.com/cd-data-recovery.htm.
The demo version gives you a much fairer idea about chances of data
recovery before deciding
upon the purchase. You can buy full version to recover data.
