Copying files (not moving) - help please

How can I *copy* files I have found using Win Explorer's SEARCH
function from one drive to another?

This is what happened to me. On my WinXP Pro system I did a file
find in Windows Explorer over my D drive.

Then I selected all the files which were found by Windows Explorer
and dragged them to a folder on the C drive.

I wanted to *copy* them but what happened is that I got a *move*.

I can't find a way to copy them. If I press CTRL to try and force a
"copy" action it does not seem to work.

(1) What can I do to force a copy?

(2) Is there any way I can automaticaly return the files which got
moved accidently to another drive back to their original location?

Select the files you want and then right click them and drag and drop them
to the location you want (You can select multiple files by holding down CTRL
when left clicking them). When you let go of the mouse button it will ask
you what you want to do, ie copy here, move here, etc.. Or hit CTRL-C for
copy.

If you want to restore the files to their original location, right click in
the area to which you moved them (ie if you moved them to the desktop, right
click the desktop) and select Undo Move.

To copy a file, highlight it and go to Edit > Copy to Folder...

Highlight the files you want to move and go to Edit > Move to Folder...

Both of these functions work with either a single file or folder or groups of
files or folders.

Right. That's the default action. To copy instead, hold the CTRL key
down while you drag them. Or drag them with the right mouse button,
then choose "move" from the popup menu.

Nothing remembers where they came from anymore. You'll have to drag
them back yourself.
