copying data files to cd-RW

have copied data files to CD-RW for back-up purposes but
when I needed to use the files they have read-only
attributes. Is there a way to copy data files to cd-RW
without read-only attributes?

Not with the burning software in Windows XP. You will need to purchase a
third party UDF packet writing software.
