Copy to CD

I have created a presentation with PP 2003 and I need to copy to CD to
distribute. I have many hyperlinks to other ppts, Word docs and pdf files.
On one slide I have a map of the US with hyperlinks to Word documents with
information pertaining to each state. I check the ppt after I have copied to
folder using the "copy to CD" option and hyperlinks work great. However,
when I copy the contents of that folder to a CD and play the presentation
from the CD my links don't work - I simply go to the next slide after my map,
which happens to be a hidden slide.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

You need to copy all the files that you link into the same folder as your
presentation before you make the links. Make your links, and then use the
copy to CD and select the copy to folder option. Then burn all the files to
the CD.

Keeping in mind that all the people you distribute your CD to will need to
have the appropriate software to view the Word, PDF files which you link to.

I should add that other hyperlinks work, just the slide with the 50
hyperlinks to each state does not.

Thanks

I had done that before I copied to CD (folder) and the links would not work
after I had done that.

Can you include Word Viewer and Adobe Reader just in case the recepient does
not have them?

You could include them, but they won't kick in automatically if your user
doesn't have Word or Adobe Reader. You'd have to set up the link to open the
EXE for the readers and then open the file. And that means you have to have
the collateral DLL files and what-not that the Word Viewer and Adobe Reader
need in order to run.

When you say they don't work, what exactly happens?

When you hover the cursor over one of the links, do you get a hand pointer instead
of an arrow?

When you click the link, do you get a message of any sort or .. nothing?

How have you applied the links? Are they applied to transparent shapes above the
states, by any chance?
