copy a word document to a ppc?

When I try to copy a word document from vista to a ppc (axim30), I get the
message: â€The file may be copied to the device for storage or transport only.
It is not supported for use on the device itself.†This holds for word
documents created in word2007 (beta) as well as in word2003.

What has to be done to copy word documents for use on the device?

I guess it simply means that the Device cannot read your documents or does
not know how to handle it.

look for file importers / exporters/ filters / whatever it will be called to
handle the 2003 / 2007 formats to read/write or to export to the format the
Pocekt PC is using.

Both on the Pocket PC as well as for your Desktops Office Suites to be full
compatible.

As for Office 2007 I can imagine that support will be lacking such features
at this Beta-Point.

But to and from Office 2003 to and from PocketWord should be noo big deal
as they are both common.

Ask Microsoft Support or search the Office Downloadsite for your Office
Product if you need to.

Axim30 could read word 2003 documents, when it was synchronized with winxp.
This problem started with vista.

How do look for file importers / exporters/ filters?

Try not to snc with the Vista Sync-Center. It has bugs.

What happens when you use ActiveSync like in XP ?

I have no downloadlinks for filefilters. Like I said look in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base for such.

But first try active-sync. maybe problem is solved then.
