Converting Outlook Express to Outlook

H

Henry W. Ince

I posted the following message earlier with no response. I hope someone sees
this message and is able to respond. Thanks.

I currently use Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1123. I would like to convert my
muliple accounts (Express calls them Identities) to Outlook 2000 SP-3
(9.0.0.6627). I "imported" one account into Outlook (I still have Outlook
Express specified as my default e-mail server). But, I do not see any way to
"Switch Identities" or similar option to go from one to the other, if I do
the same for my other Express identities. How do I change from one "account"
in Outlook to another.

Thanks for any help.

Henry

Outlook uses profiles, not identities. You would need to set up your
profiles under Control Panel->Mail Icon. As for importing the items
associated with the OE Identities, you may want to check with an OE help
site for information since Outlook will not touch them.

http://www.tomsterdam.com is a good place to start.

Microsoft seem to think that no one have more then one
email adress who uses office but with broadband which
often gives 5 emails free
So I hope Microsoft figures this out one day and put
switch identy there as it a major complant I gotten from
my customer base which is mainly 1-5 pc market
Personaly I use 4 emails myself
1 business
2 Personal
3 Dating
4 Gaming group

and use outlook express as it is a royal pain to keep

You could upgrade to Outlook XP or 2003.
