Managing Identities in outlook 2003? (Upgrading from outlook express)

Jim

Hi - can anyone help me please.

I have been using outlook express for some time and have
4 'identities' set up, one for each of my 4 email
addresses from the same ISP (in express this gives me
just one mail account to which all 4 identities hang
from).

I have just upgraded to Office 2003 and requested outlook
2003 to become my main mail programme and for it to grab
the mail identities from outlook express.

The problem i have is that outlook 2003 doesnt appear to
have the 'identities' concept. It successfully set up
outlook 2003 with an account that works for one of my 4 e-
mail addresses, but i cannot get it to show me the other
3 e-mail addresses?

Outlook 2003 doesnt have any identities concept, the only
thing i can find is to create a new account - but is this
correct? I have tried this and it does create a new
account for my second email address, but i cannot then
see this in outlook 2003? There doesnt seem to be any
obvious way to change between these accounts/identities?

I cannot find any way of bringing across from outlook ex-
press the other 3 identities (but i can still see and use
outlook express for all 4 email addresses). I have looked
at various help files on outlook and via a google search
but cannot find anything that helps me!

If anyone please has any iditots guides (although i
wouldnt concider myself to be an IT idiot - so god help
less knowledgeable people) on how to manage
multiple 'identities' in outlook 2003 then i would be
very grateful.

Thanks very much, Jim (who may indeed be an 'idiot')

You can set mail profiles in Outlook which do kind of the same;
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles

Thanks a million - but i am still stuck.

I have created two profiles, which link to two separate
email accounts. I have set up outlook so that it asks me
which profile i want when it opens - but irrespective of
which one i choose i get the same e-mail account within
outlook? (which is infact neither of the two accounts i
have just defined, but one of my other two)

How do i get it to only link one email account to one
profile (and for this to be the one i have defined - or
it shows me i have defined?)

Any further comments would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, Jim

Are you sure these are separate accounts and not 2 e-mail addresses pointing
to the same mailbox? (aliases) You can contact your ISP to verify this.

If you are sure these are not aliases check the account settings for that
profile to makae sure they are setup correctly.
