Converting from Outlook Express

Just recently converted from Outlook Express to Outlook. Had 2 email
addresses in Express and accessed them by switching identies. Since
converting I have not discovered how to switch between the 2 accounts and am
not receiving mail in the main account. Message says there is either a
message currently being sent or box is being used by another program.

Outlook doesn't have identities. The closest approximation is mail
profiles. However, you can have multiple accounts in a single mail profile.
WIth multiple profiles, you can have completely distinct message stores.
With multiple accounts in one profile, you can use rules to move mail from
each account to separate folders.

What do you want to accomplish?

Right now I just want to be able to retrieve my mail. Nothing is coming
through. Ultimately I want to be able to work between 2 email accounts in
Outlook. Know how to access both accounts and send/receive.

In your original message, you talk about "converting" from Outlook Express
to Outlook. How did you perform this "conversion"? What version of Outlook
are you using?

I have Microsoft Office 2003 in which Outlook is a part. I was using Outlook
Express just because that is what I was used to before purchasing Office.
When I performed a microsoft "critical update" it automatically defaulted my
email program to Outlook. I thought I would give it a try. I used the
import/export feature to "convert" over to Outlook from Outlook Express. It
seemed to be successfull and I like the look and abilities of Outlook and
would like to continue to use it, but want to be able to use 2 email
addresses. The message that I get when I try to retrieve mail is "Your
mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another email message is being
delivered to it or another mail application is accessing it."

Did you export to OL using OE or import from OE using OL?

Do you have both addresses defined as accounts in Outlook? Do they both
point to the same mail server? Is the username/password for each account
unique? Do they point to the same or different POP and SMTP servers?
The message that I get when I try to retrieve mail is "Your mailbox
is temporarily unavailable because another email message is being

Do you have only a single instance of an OUTLOOK.EXE process? Is Outlook
Express running at the same time?
