I am running MS XP Professional. I am running MS Access 2003 and MS Works
Suite Version 7.0. How do I convert or open an Access .MDB file to Works
Database .WDB file?

Thanks Chris.

I don't know what Works can read. I suspect you may need to export the
data from Access to a format Works can read. You will not be able to use
the same structure, forms reports etc from Access. Works just does not have
the ability to reproduce them. It is not intended for the same kind of more
complex work Access is designed for.

In addition to .WDB files, Works database will also open .dbf (dBase)
files and text files. So from Access save your data as a dBase (.dbf)
file, and you can then import it into Works.

But I'm wondering.... why would you want to do that if you have
Access?

Just use the file->Export option.

Simply export the data to a text (csv) file. Works can read that.

You can also choose Excel, as I *think* works can import excel (check this
in Works).

So, you have a few choices in terms of moving the data to works....

Oddly enough, there is no direct way to do so.

You can export the *data* from Access to an Excel spreadsheet or to a
comma-separated-values Text file, and import that data into Works. However,
none of the Forms, Reports, VBA code, Queries or other objects in Access have
any direct counterpart in Works; the entire concept of a "form" or "report" is
quite different, and they'll need to be rebuilt from scratch.
