Contol Panel Pop up alert

This is soooo goofy.. Anytime I try to access the control panel I get
multiple pop-ups informing me that my sound hardware acceleration settings
should be on full to experience supercool sound. Thing is, it's onboard
audio. And the accelration is already set to full.. The control panel works
fine, I just have to close out about 6 pop ups in order to get to it. I
close one, and the same one pops up again, over and over until I'm in the
control panel screen..

Anyone out there see this before?

Never seen it, but it sounds like spyware. Run Ad Aware.

Run it once a week.. Also Spybot S&D.. Doesn't seem to have any bearing..
I think I'll try reinstalling the driver for the onboard audio and see if it
goes away..

Ah ha!! Control Panel extension was the culprit.. Moved ADVSNDMGR.cpl
to a Holding folder for safekeeping.. No more problems..

C:/Windows/System32.... There's a bunch of .cpl files and this one looked
suspect so I moved it..

No more problems..
