Continuing Infected E-Mails claiming to be from Microsoft

J

John Summerford

I continue to get multiple e-mails claiming to be the
latest security update for XP-2000. They come with a very
official full color Microsoft screen. However, my virus
protection software identifies the executable attachments
as infected. Example files that are deleted along with the
E-Mail Subject.

NEW SECURITY PATCH
INSTALLION79.exe:W32 SwenA@mm

CURRENT MICROSOFT SECURITY UPGRADE
UPDATE12.exe:W32 Swen.A@mm

Another was:

installer814.exe:WORM.AUTOMAT.AHB

Are these legitimate. Are they truly infected. How can I
stop this?
