content IE5

I have found that I have several gigs (over 35,000 files) located in a folder
called 'content IE5.' It takes 30 or more minutes for my AV to scan these
files, and I cannot find a way to delete them (I have tried all the standard
ways).

btw, the folder in question is contained in a 'hidden' file in Docs &
Settings, and in Temp Internet files.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of these files? thanks

Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Delete
Files button > put a checkmark in 'Delete all offline content' > click
OK > click OK.

Now go back to the General tab and click the Settings button. In the
'Temporary Internet files folder' section find 'Amount of disk space to
use' and set it to 10 or 15MB if you have a broadband connection to the
internet, and 25 to 50MB if you're on dialup.

That does NOT work. The disk clnup window shows 0 bytes in all temp folders.
I have used this utility many times and defragged many times. The monstrous
number of files in content IE5 remain.

Thanks Ted, I think that helped. Apparently checking the 'Delete all offline
content' box did it. I must have inadvertently had more than a years history
stored there.

Curioulsy, i have always had only 10 megs set as the 'amt of disk space to
use' but that didn't seem to help. ??

Thanks again....
