Hi
Over the last fews days I have been getting an error messages when trying to
open Contacts or certain folders. The message says 'this file does not have a
program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association
in the Set Associastions control panel'.

I have checked this out in defualt programms etc and all seems ok, but it
won't open.

This error seems related to the July 10 Windows Update KB933928.
Some people have obtained relief by uninstalling KB933928.
If all else fails, try upgrading to Windows Live Mail.

Hi Gary, thanks for the info, it looks as though the mentioned update
'failed'. I seem to have allot failed updates, I have done the work round to
that problem but they still fail, anyway, needless to same I am still having
the same problem with contacts etc.

Were any updates installed successfully on July 10th or later?
If so, uninstall those one at a time, reboot, and retest the Contacts.
If that doesn't work, try a system restore back to a date when it was working.
